Blackpool is still one of the most popular seaside resorts in Britain today. With its seven miles of sandy beach and its array of piers, theatres and amusement parks, Blackpool has a lot to offer. Daytime is playtime with all the fun of the Towers, Pleasure Beach, Golden Mile and its spectacular shows. During the winter this lively resort is recognised as one of the greatest shows on earth, the Blackpool illuminations are an electrical extravaganza of dazzling traditional lights and lasers.
This year we are staying the wonderful 4-star Imperial Hotel. Celebrating its 140th year, few hotels in the UK have a heritage as rich and distinguished as the Imperial. Since it first opened its doors in 1867, it has taken centre stage at many high profile occasions associated with life in Blackpool. Graced by political parties, royality, statemens and stars of the screen and stage, the Imperial Hotel is Blackpools most prestigious and proud hotel. In 2007 the hotel had a multi million pound refurbishment programme, and is now a flagship hotel of Blackpool. All rooms have en-suite facilities including refreshment trays. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, solarium, jacuzzi, gym, steam room and beauty salon.
