TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Cantabria in Northern Spain offers a stunning coastline, an enviable range of historic villages, ports and the beautiful Picos de Europa mountains. The hotel Olimpo is a 4-star hotel with a fantastic scenic location on a peninsula in the town of Isla on the Cantrabria's coast within easy reach of Santander and Bilbao. The hotels gardens offer access onto 2 beautiful sand beaches and the outdoor swimming pool and terrace are a perfect place to relax on a sunny afternoon. The centre of the small village of Isla is only a short walk away. All of the hotel bedrooms have private facilities and all enjoy a very pleasant view over the sea or gardens. The hotel also has a bright restauarant with a nautical theme, large bar, lifts, terrace, quiet lounges, shop, hairdresser and sauna/solarium.
For this tour, we travel to Santander from Plymouth by Britanny Ferries. The excellent Pont-Aven is a new flagship ferry, launched in 2004, it boasts excellent onboard facilities. From Santander, there is only a short drive to our hotel. We have included some wonderful excursions. To include Santillana, a village on the World Heritage Ltd and best described as a living museum. A full day excursion to the Rioja region stopping in the lovely town of Haro at the heart of the wine growing area, and also Laguardia, a medieval hilltop town with a maze of small cobbled streets. A full day to the Picos de Europa mountain range.
We will overnight in Bristol on the outward and return journey.
