TOUR DESCRIPTION:

Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is an elegant city, rich in history and tradition. Castles and crown jewels, galleries and museums, cathedrals and canals - sightseeing in this city is fascinating. One of the city's most celebrated sights is Tivoli, a unique combination of picture perfect gardens, lakes and more than 100,000 coloured lights.

We have included some wonderful excursions to include the Castle of Kronborg, in the port of Helsingor, known as Hamlets Castle and made famous by the film version starring Laurance Olivier and Vivien Leigh. We have also included Frederiksborg Castle one of Europe's grandest renaissance castles, built across three islands in a lake. Another day day we have a full day excursion to Sweden via the 10 mile oresund Bridge which links Denmark and Sweden to include the city of Malmo and the city of Lund; visit the cathedral where an astrological clock strikes twice a day, a fascinating open air museum with a collection of orginal Swedish country homes or wander in the Botanical Gardens all centrally located in the city.

Another excursion to the old fishermans village of Dragor where you can wander among the tiny half timbered thatched cottages with their stamp size gardens.

Another full day to the Viking town of Roskilde where you can visit the remarkable cathedral and burial place of nearly all the Danish Kings & Queens and afterwards you can enjoy a wonderful Fjord Cruise. The Imperial Hotel is a dynamic 4-star hotel with the utmost in classic Danish design and modern architecture it exudes a special elegance and atmosphere. With only a few minutes by foot to the central station and the town hall square the hotel is located in the heart of Copenhagen. The hotel was recently completed renovated. All 267 rooms have new bathrooms. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, iron, ironing board,mini bar, bath & shower. Our route to Copenhagen takes us via Hull to Rotterdam through Holland, and into Germany, overnighting onboard the ferry to Rotterdam, and overnighting in Germany in each direction. Our route to Copenhagen will be via the Odense & The Great Belt Bridge on the outward journey and via Rodby & Puttgarden and a day ferry crossing back to Germany, on the return which gives you a beautiful circular route.
