TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Due to the great success last year, we are back to the wonderful Featersh Hotel. Weathered oak, ancient stone, medieval brick, wherever you look in Ludlow, there's no escaping it. Ludlow is a vibrant beautiful town, living within walls, streets and buildins, which are the product of centuries of prosperity and like a gorgeous star from bygone era.
Ludlow looks great for her age. We have included some wonderful excursions including the wonderful Ironbridge. Like so much of Shropshire, Ironbridge offers something for everyone and is a world heritage site, including ten museums. The museums are thoughtfully designed to delight and amaze every generation. For a taste of the sights, sounds and smells of Victorian England, there is Blists Hill Victorian Town. Here your decimal cash is replaced with pounds, shillings and pence and you mingle with friendly well informed Victorian residents dressed in historic costumes.
We have left you a free day in Medieval Ludlow, there is just so much to see and do including excellent craft and antique shops, a wealth of historic buildings and of course Ludlow Castle. Our last day will be spend in Shewsbury where we will make a visit to 'Percy Thrower's Gardening Center, where they have a lovely gift shop and coffee shop. The rest of the day will be spent in Shrewsbury. Architecturally and historically, it's a masterpiece. Black & White buildings are everywhere, as are the ancient passageway which connect them.
We are staying at the famous Feathers Hotel, which was described in the New York Times as the most handsome inn in the world. The Feathers Hotel is internationally recognised for its beautiful Jacobean architecture and medieval heritage. Situated at the heart of the ancient market town, everything is within easy walking distance. All bedrooms are en-suite with both bath and shower, colour TV, hospitality tray and direct dial telephones.
The much acclaimed Feathers Restaurant enjoys a reputation for offering traditional and innovative cooking using fresh local produce.
Altogether, this is a real gem!
