For those who remember the Balmacara Hotel from a few years back, will be pleasantly surprised, as the hotel has undergone a major refurbishment and change of ownership and is now family owned. The Balmacara Hotel is stunningly situated on the shores of Loch Alsh, where the Isle of Skye beckons from the front windows, and the glorious hills of Wester Ross from the back. All the bedrooms include tastefully decorated en-suite bathrooms, tea making facilities, hairdryer, Sky TV and some enjoy stunning views across Loch Alsh towards Skye. Themes range from contemporary through to Victorian antique furnished rooms.

The Balmacara hotel has a lovely restaurant overlooking the loch and their specilaity is locally caught seafood & game which combined with high quality tableware and linen we hope all provide you with an excellent dining experience.

For those who have never been to Skye are assured of a real treat in store. The scenery on Skye is dramatic from the stark rise of the jagged Cullin range, which drops to the gentle white of a soft sand beach. A place where time means nothing, and beneath every footstep lies 500 million years of history. We have included three excursions which will cover everything that Skye has to offer from Dunvegan Castle, home to the Chief of MacLeod. We will take you to Portree, where you can enjoy a walk around the harbour and browse the shops selling traditional souvenirs. We have also included a visit to the Taliskar Distillery on the shores of Loch Harport, where you will have a guided tour and of course, no trip would be complete without tasting of the wonderful amber nectar.
