Ocean Hotel, Isle of Wight
The Ocean Hotel, family run since 1958 offers 96 bedrooms and is conveniently situated between the High Street and the Esplanade overlooking the popular Sandown Bay, with its six mile stretch of glorious well groomed sand. The long beach only a few steps from the Hotel gardens, is an attraction for all ages and is safe for bathing at all times. Sandown bay can proudly boast of its sucess, as it is a regular holder of the UK sunshine record. Long walks can also be enjoyed from the hotel, along coastal paths and into the countryside. The Isle Of Wight can be as interesting, relaxing or active as you make it and the Ocean Hotel is an excellent base from which to explore the numerous attractions, countryside and natural beauty.
Sandown Bay is a regular holder of the South of England 'Sunshine League' which complements the wide choice of beach activities ideally situated along the seafront. Tennis courts, a sailing club, the popular 'Browns' family golf course, as well as the Bay itself, being a popular arena for watersports - it all adds up to choosing a holiday or short break at the Ocean Hotel.. The heated swimming pool and children's pool which is unsupervised (open mid May to mid September) is an obvious benefit to all over visitors. For children there is an under six playroom and table tennis, and for adults a games rooms with full size snooker table.
The island is only 23 miles wide and 13 miles deep and has over 60 attractions. It provides a wide range of leisure activities from golf, riding, cycling, mountain biking, sailing, watersports and hang gliding, to painting. Visit Queen Victoria's favourite seaside home, Osbourne House, or walk along the 500 miles of footpaths through Heritage coastline, towering chalk cliffs, sandy beaches and picturesque thatched villages. The local leisure centre in Sandown offers indoor activities for all ages, from swimming to squash, and the Pier now offers great all weather activites such as bowling, adventure golf, a children's activity play area and various other amusements.

Our head waiter and his team will be serving you an excellent choice of food in our attractive and stylish dining room, which overlooks the gardens and the bay. Kings Bar, owned by the Hotel is only a stroll away. Wander away from the Hotel and enjoy a different atmosphere any time of the day for drinks, snacks or lunch. A contempory decor with comfy settess, wicker chairs and a sun balcony overlooking the bay. The Hotel has a range of 96 bedrooms, all en-suire and all with colour TVs, tea/coffee making facilities, radio, some with balconies. Many rooms have wonderful sea views and some overlook the High Stree. All main floors are accessible by a lift.
