Just north of Dublin, there is a precious part of Ireland
waiting to be explored, containing national treasures and
offering excellent entertainment. The Boyne Valley is a
fertile, wooded landscape who’s peaceful hills and pastures
contain rare historic sites of international significance. The
beautiful River Boyne itself, which flows down to the Irish
Sea through the counties of Louth & Meath, was the site of
the famous Battle of Boyne in 1690 a key event in the shaping
of modern Ireland. We have included wonderful excursions
to include the expertise of a local guide in Dublin, as well as
a visit to Skerries Mills, a fine collection of working windmills
and waterwheels, offering wonderful views of the coast and
offshore islands, and the opportunity to discover Castletown
House, the largest Palladian Country House in Ireland.

For this tour we stay in the heritage town of Trim, in the
superb 4 star Trim Castle Hotel with modern facilities,
situated directly opposite Trim Castle. All Rooms have en

Castle itself is the largest remaining Norman castle in
Ireland. The imposing fortress was a valuable military and
parliamentary site throughout the Middle Ages and gained
fame more recently as a filming location for the blockbuster
Braveheart starring Mel Gibson. For some of the best views
of the castle we recommend the rooftop garden at our hotel.
