Deauville is a glamorous seaside resort, regarded as the queen of Norman beaches, symbolising elegance, prestige and sophistication.
It is home to a racecourse, harbour, international film festival, marina and a grand casino. Our hotel is situated only 10
km from Deauville and 3 km from the ancient cheese making town of Pontl’Eveque.

For this tour we are staying the the Mercure Deauville Pont l’Eveque Hotel. This is an excellent 3 star hotel and all bedrroms
are traditionally decorated with sat.TV and hairdryer. There are glorious views of the countryside from the panoramic
restaurant or summer terrace. There is an outdoor pool and stunning gardens to explore. There is a lift to all floors.

We have included a mixture of wonderful excursions, we have had so many requests to include the D-Day landing beaches which
are often still referred to by their wartime codenames; Sword, Juno, Gold, Omaha & Utah. We will of course visit Bayeux which
is world famous for its tapestry, which is over 70 meters long and tells the story of the Battle of Hastings.

Normandy is dotted with beautiful parks, chateaux and gardens, and Monet’s Gardens at Giverny are the most famous and are
a delight to visit, so this is one of our ‘must visits’. Of course no visit to Normandy would be complete without a visit to Rouen,
with its wealth of fine shops, a splendid cathedral and a maze of pretty pedestrianised streets. The main square, Place Vieux
Marche is surrounded by half timbered houses.
