This hotel was recommended by a local, who told us that it was the best hotel in the whole area, and on checking it out, we were delighted with the friendliness of the staff & whole ambiance of the hotel. Being family owned, they pride themselves on the quality of service, attention to detail and efficiency. In their restaurant, their award winning chef and his team use locally sourced produce in the delightful Bridgwater.

Somerset restaurant to create in-house amazing appetizers, magnificent main courses and delicious desserts to tempt your taste buds. Each of the Hotel's 33 rooms has its own individuality and offers stylish decor, thoughtful design and peaceful ambience in which you can truly unwind and all of course have en suite facilities.
From, Petherton there are so many beautiful destinations to explore. Along the southern rim of the Mendip Hills, spectacular limestone
formations of 100 m cliffs, rock pinnacles, cave systems and precipitous gorges stretch from Cheddar to Wookey Hole, just outside Wells.

Cheddar cheese is known throughout the world, its manufacture originating at farms in the region. You can watch traditional Cheese
making at the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company in the lower Gorge. This is a wonderful visit and not to be missed. Another wonderful
visit is of course to the city of Bath.

The world heritage site of Bath is one of Britain’s most beautiful cities. Treasured by the Romans, who discovered its mineral rich
springs it became a fashionable spa. Bath is a treasure house of ancient buildings. The Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge and the Circus epitomize Georgian elegance. As well as the stunning architecture, Bath is famous for its beautiful flower filled streets, parks and gardens.

Of course no tour would be complete without a visit to England’s smallest city of Wells, which takes its name from the springs which
rise in the gardens of the Bishop’s Palace, near the East end of Wells Cathedral. The cathedral itself is well worth a visit with its
spectacular West face, overlooking the Cathedral Green together with a 600 year old astronomical clock. Another exciting trip we
have included, will be on board the last horse drawn barge, located in Mid Devon on the banks of the Grand Western Canal. This is a
unique tour and only available in Tiverton, so we just had to include this as part of our adventure. We have also included morning coffee
with a savoury scone to enjoy as we sail along the canal at a very leisurely rate.

As Somerset is famous for Cider, we have included an afternoon cream tea with the calorie free scones with jam & clotted cream
at Perry’s family owned Cider Farm. Established in 1920 the Perry family continue the tradition of growing and pressing their apples
on the original farm site. Here they conserve the traditional craft of cider making, and take advantage of the mild climate, rich soils and
aspects of the area, which lend themselves to the production of high quality apples and ciders alike. Their ciders have recently been
awarded over 11 national awards, including 3 Great Taste awards and 7 taste of the west awards. You will of course have a sample of
the cider included in your visit. We will stay overnight in each direction in the Birmingham area.
