On-board News:

Give Blood Before You Go On Holiday

Anyone between the ages of 17-60, who is in general good health, can volunteer to give blood (if you are a current donor, you can donate until you are 70 years of age). But first we want to make sure that we are taking the best care of you. Please make sure you have eaten before donating. While almost anyone can give blood, please remember there are a few exceptions. There are two main reasons why you shouldn't give blood:

  1. If giving blood could affect your own good health, for example:
    • If you are pregnant or have been pregnant within the last year
    • If you have certain medical conditions or are taking certain types of medication
    • If you have had surgery in the past 12 months
    • If you weigh less than 7st 12lbs (50kg)
    • If you are under the age of 17 or over the age of 60 (70 for current donors)
  2. If your blood could transmit an infection to the person who receives it, for example:
    • If you have visited a foreign country within the last 12 months where you may have been exposed to malaria, such as parts of Africa or South America
    • If you have ever injected drugs
    • If your lifestyle puts you at risk of HIV or hepatitis
    • If you have had ear /body piercing or a tattoo within the last year
    • If you have received, or think you may have received, a blood transfusion in the UK since 1980

If you would like more details, or if you feel unwell after giving a donation, please call us on 0845 90 90 999

EUROPEAN UNION

When Britain joined the European Union is was expected that many laws would be the same in all member countries.

However items like VAT and Road Tolls still differ enormously from country to country.

Heavy Road Tolls are charged on Motorways in France, Italy and Spain.

Austria charges an entry fee at their border but in Germany we have to pay VAT on each kilometre per passengers with constant checks. The German Police have the power to impound a Coach if VAT has not been paid.

Here in the UK we do not charge Coaches anything including Central London. In Paris however coaches have to pay to enter the City Centre. Not such a European Union is it?

BETTER BY COACH?

Many people consider only package holidays by Air for their annual break but the travel can be a nightmare.

Travellers have to put up with increased security and longer check in times, queues, packed airports and delays. Getting to the Airport can be difficult and many charter flights have very restricted seat space.

Coach holidays are much more relaxed and personal with some destinations being ideal by Coach. You see more, there is less hassle and more space. Add to this the friendships that are often made and your friendly crew.

ON BOARD TOILET

Please remember that there is a limited capacity in our Toilet on board the Coach. It should only be used during the journey and never when parked. You are asked to use other toilets at all locations.

CENTRE DOOR

Please be aware that the centre door must never be opened by passengers. Please disembark from the forward door unless instructed by a member of Crew to use the centre steps.

STEPS ON BOARD

Please be very careful when boarding or leaving the Coach. Please be aware that the centre steps leading down to the Toilet and Exit are quite steep and protrude into the main gangway. All our new touring Coaches have been fitted with illuminated Step Lights for your safety.

LUGGAGE

Please make sure you complete your luggage label and identify your case. Make sure that you see each item taken to the Coach and never leave luggage unattended. Crew members will be happy to assist with your luggage.

PERSONAL PROPERTY

Please check that you do not leave any items on the Coach and collect all personal items from your seat area and lockers. It is a good idea to thoroughly check your Hotel bedroom before your departure.

FOOD

For hygienic reasons we ask that no food be consumed on board the Coach other than light confectionary.

Should you have a complaint during this tour you must inform your Crew immediately. We, our Hotels and Suppliers want you to enjoy your Tour to the full - So don't wait until it is too late - We are here to help!
